A Letter From Us

We’ll use this space to share stories from around the shop, talk about vintage collecting, take you behind the scenes, highlight some incredible finds, and introduce you to the amazing people who help make The Vintage Venture what it is. But before we get into all of that, we thought we’d start at the beginning.

When we opened our doors in December of 2022, we knew we were opening the first chapter of our dream shop.

Like most small businesses, we had big ideas and a much smaller budget. There were so many things we wanted to do, but we simply couldn’t do them all at once. We had to start somewhere.

Every now and then, our opening photos pop up in our memories, and they always make us smile. At the time, the shop felt like it had so much potential. Looking back now, we’re amazed at how much it has grown. The shelves that once looked a little sparse are now overflowing with carefully curated vintage treasures, and every corner has evolved through thousands of small decisions made over the last few years.

Even now, nearly four years later, we’re still building the vision we had in our minds.

We were building a community.

We’ve watched friendships begin between customers and vendors alike.. We’ve seen vendors encourage one another and celebrate each other’s successes. We’ve hosted local markets, filmed over 30 bands, hosted tarot evenings, and creative events that brought people together for reasons that had very little to do with shopping.

Those moments have become just as meaningful to us as the vintage itself.

We’ve always believed that vintage is about more than old things.
It’s about craftsmanship that has stood the test of time. It’s about preserving history instead of replacing it. It’s about finding beauty in something that has already lived a life and giving it the chance to be appreciated all over again.

It’s also about people.

Every purchase supports one of the many small businesses that call The Vintage Venture home. Every visit helps keep those stories and those entrepreneurs going.

When we started this business, we couldn’t have imagined where it would lead us. There have been challenges, plenty of lessons learned, and more than a few moments where we’ve had to figure things out as we went. But every step has helped shape The Vintage Venture into what it is today, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who’s been part of that journey.

As for this blog, we hope it becomes another place where our community can gather.

We’ll share collecting tips, decorating inspiration, behind-the-scenes moments, stories about unusual finds, the history behind vintage pieces we love, updates on events, and maybe even a few projects we’re dreaming up next.
